WMS Service

You can subscribe to Forest Monitor’s own map layers as a WMS service.

Users who want to use data layers from Forest Monitor in their own GIS and planning applications can subscribe to our data as a WMS service. This applies to, for example, consulting firms, municipalities, and authorities, who often have this need. It is possible to subscribe to both a single license (one user) and a multi-license (several users within the same organization).

The WMS service makes it possible to view Forest Monitor’s nationwide map layer of potential Old forests & continuity forests 2.0, a data that shows the following three classes:

  • High conservation values (confirmed)
  • Probable conservation values (species findings + remote sensing)
  • Potential older forest or continuity forest (remote sensing)

Subscribers will also have access to other unique data produced by Forest Monitor, such as the data layers: Deciduous forest with potential conservation values 1.0 and potential mountain birch.

Subscribers of Forest Monitor may use the WMS service internally in their own operations.

It is already possible to view the map layers and use the map service on Forestmonitor.eu (applies to everyone). However, the free version of the data on the page may only be used via our map service, unless otherwise agreed.

Prices

For the use of Protect the Forest’s WMS service Forest Monitor and within the framework of the license terms stated in the license document, each user pays a fee per half-year.

Delivery fee and connection fee for the WMS service Forest Monitor are included in the fee. The fee is invoiced per half-year by the organisation Protect the Forest, which is the data owner, and is paid in advance for each half-year period.

The following two options and costs are possible to order:

  • Single license (one user): 500 SEK/month, 3,000 SEK per half-year, excl. 25% VAT.
  • Multi-license (multiple users in the same organization): 1,000 SEK/month, 6,000 SEK per half-year, excl. 25% VAT.
