Emissions from 1955 million round trips to Thailand
Emissions from 319 coal-fired power plants for one year
Södra Norrland
If forests in Södra Norrland were allowed to grow old, and undisturbed, they could store the same amount of carbon dioxide as 319 coal-fired power plants emit during a year. Or what 257 million passenger cars emits during the same time. Or 1,955 million round-trip trips to Thailand. If we keep cutting down trees at our current rate, our forest will never grow really old, and they will never reach the same awesome capacity of storing carbon that is needed to save our climate. Less felling increases the carbon stock in our forests.
